Controlled Burn Information & Permits
**3/21/2024 our burn ban has been lifted and we are now accepting and approving burn permits**

The DeForest Windsor Fire & EMS department reserves the right to suspend burn permits and prohibit open burning at any time on the basis of maintaining public safety. Please remember garbage, treated wood products, plastic products, oils, asphalt products, paper products containing ink, rubber products or other prohibited items may not be burned.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding a controlled burn, please contact Fire Inspector Kraig Knapp by phone or email.
Note: The Fire Inspector is in the office Monday – Friday. Please do not submit a burn permit request without allowing enough time for the permit to be reviewed and approved prior to when you are planning to burn.
